The Rebel Eves are rich in experience and resonant harmonies — and richer still in friendship, camaraderie and the kinship of chosen family.
The Americana trio is composed of award-winning musicians Jilian Linklater, Katie Pederson and Grace Theisen (pronounced Tyson). All three are powerhouses of authentic expression with killer voices in their own right — and they’re Michigan born-and-bred to boot.
Theisen’s catalog can inspire a listener to put on their favorite outfit, deconstruct outdated paradigms in their life and build new ones on sounder foundations. Pederson’s ethereal vocals ripple over piano melodies like the peaceful part of a river, while her pop ballads can bring tears to your eyes and catharsis to your spirit. And Linklater’s charming, clever and sometimes plucky singer/songwriter tunes invite you to a place where you’re always accepted and celebrated.
But through The Rebel Eves, the three women transcend their respective catalogs to create something a little more rock ‘n’ roll, abuzz with inspiration and infused with a spirit of liberation and authenticity.
Revue West Michigan
The Rebel Eves—singer/songwriters Katie Pederson, Grace Theisen, and Jilian Linklater—emerged in 2022, after countless Zoom sessions, and one fateful lakeside songwriting retreat, determined to build something more than just a band.
A fearless, sister-powered musical movement, grounded in honest storytelling, three-part harmonies, and shared struggles as women in the male-dominated music industry, the trio calls their music “Empowered Americana.”
All established solo artists on their own, working out of three different cities across the country—in Seattle, Nashville, and Kalamazoo—The Rebel Eves each have Michigan roots, with Pederson growing up in Saline near Ann Arbor, Theisen in Kalamazoo, and Linklater having recently moved back to her hometown of Lake Orion.

Mitten Music Podcast: The Rebel Eve
The Rebel Eves graciously allowed us to steal some of their time at FAMgrove 2024 up in Traverse City (located at French Valley Vineyard), MI…thanks to The Accidentals! Of course it was a great conversation! Katie, Grace, and Jilian let us know how they formed the band (while being spread across the entire US), why they formed the band (and it’s not what you’d expect), and what’s coming next (heads up, its an album!). Hear Ryan and Grace gush over Dax Shepard and his Armchair Expert podcast while Jeff explains how to pronounce Hamtramck.
Acoustic Alternatives with John Bommarito
Back in 2016 I discovered a young singer by the name of Katie Pederson. By 2018 I was pretty invested in singing her praises while she continued to put out great music on albums like The Landing and Limitless. On our last visit in a studio together on the Acoustic Alternatives podcast, you may have learned more about her. This time I was very happy to welcome her new project with her friends Jilian Linklater (who I had also first heard in 2016) and Grace Theisen. I got to see one of their first shows awhile ago and I knew immediately I wanted to find a way to get the trio on the podcast so you could be introduced to them too.
